Femininity self care tips
Self-care is important so you can be the best version of yourself every day. You work at your best when you are well rested and your body and mind are refreshed. Self-care is not selfish; it is the crucial time for you to spend on taking care of yourself.
We live in a world where we are always busy, always doing something, always taking care of everyone else before ourselves, and doing our best to balance work, life, home, and stress. Women are often very in tune with their emotions and feelings so they tend to respond best to self-care activities that ease intense emotions during stressful times.
1. Look within
When you are doing your makeup, nails, or moisturizing your skin, you are able to focus on yourself and your appearance instead of what is bringing you down. These few moments may be the only ‘you time’ that you have to yourself in a day and many women capitalize on that alone time. These quiet moments are a great opportunity to reflect and explore your thoughts and feelings within.
2. Invest in the future you
You can be creative and experiment with different colors and shades while you figure out what looks best on you. You are not doing this for anyone except yourself. You want to look your best for yourself. When you invest in your appearance, you are investing in the future you.
3. Breathe in
Aromatherapy can be incredibly useful during self-care. You can use scented candles, oils, bath salts, scrubs, blends, and masks for aromatherapy during your morning routines, or while winding down for the night, or while soaking in the bathtubLavender is one of the most common scents used to ease stress and allow your mind to heal. Self-Care is also
- “No, I have food at home and don’t need to spend my money on this.”
- Maintaining a personal budget
- Holding yourself accountable for your toxic behavior
- Being (truly) honest with yourself.
- Maintaining a cleaning schedule for your home, clothing, and car
- READING
- Investing in your clothes (Tailoring, dry cleaning, actually reading the tags on how to care for them)
- Saving money and investing it
- Ensuring your investing your time correctly and wisely
-Going to therapy and properly coping with your behaviors and past trauma
- Sticking to a skincare routine for 3 months so that the products have proper time to work and ACTUALLY give you results
- Hitting the gym instead of the bars
- Eating GOOD food
- Improving and maintaining your mental hygiene
- HEALTHY boundary setting.
- Preserving your standards regardless of your company. Not just yelling them at people or on social media when you don’t uphold them yourself.
A lot of people limit self-care to the appearance, and it’s not. I’d like to leave a reminder that self-care is all the gritty and greasy things you do every day. Not just self-pampering.
Anyone can dress themselves up to be an ideal type (Currently it’s the IG Baddies) but none of that means anything if you don’t actually do the work you need to care of yourself.
A woman searching for her answers outside of herself is nothing but a pretty fool. And I’m sure we’re all tired of fools.
LA
I hope anyone who is living in Beirut, Lebanon is safe. Anyone who has family or friends there, I hope they are all safe. My heart goes out to everyone there right now. The videos are absolutely horrifying
